MagID in Top Four Most Innovative Products at World-leading Plastics Sustainability Event

25 March 2022

MagID, the patented marking technology from MagVision has been selected as one of the four most innovative products at the 2022 Global Research & Innovation in Plastics Sustainability Conference 2022.

MagID uses covert barcodes printed in magnetic ink to uniquely mark packaging items, making it ideal to track reuse and refill applications.   Data along the product life journey is accessed via MagID’s software platform, helping brands to analyse and measure the impact of their circular strategy. The same codes can be used for brand protection, preventing counterfeits or detecting parallel markets.

There were 20 entries in the GRIPS Most Innovative competition which were presented during the virtual conference from 16-18 March. The judges shortlisted the four finalists based on the criteria of technological innovation, potential impact and overall presentation.

Dr Nathalie Muller, Head of Innovation, MagVision, said:
“I’m absolutely delighted that MagID made the shortlist out of so many strong innovations in the sustainable plastics arena. For us, measurement is key to making a dent in the amount of plastic waste and there has been a lot of interest in using MagID as it offers a low-cost entry point. You need to be able to measure to know that you’re making an impact and we make it easy for companies who are starting their journey.”
